Tourism

Chicago is undoubtedly one of the great cities of the world to visit and we hope you'll take the time to explore at least a few of our attractions while you're here. This page provides basic information on travel and links to some useful websites and resources.

Convention Trips

In addition to Chicon 7's own program of events, we have a number of special off-site trips planned for members, both before and during the convention.

Chicago Transportation

For information about getting to Chicon 7, please visit our Getting Here page.

For information about getting around Chicago and Chicagoland, check out our Getting Around page.

Tourism Resources

We've highlighted some particular attractions below, but if you'd like a wider selection, try out these general resources on Chicago tourism.

Neil's Native Guide

We highly recommend this guide, put together by Chicago local fan Neil Rest, as another tourist resource. It includes information on attractions, restaurants and local bookshops.

Chicago Sports
page top

Chicago is a great sports town, and we are delighted that both the Cubs and the White Sox will be playing before, during, and after Chicon 7.

The Cubs are home from August 24 through September 2, playing first the Rockies, then the Brewers, and finally the Giants. When the Cubs leave, the White Sox come home, playing the Twins, September 2, 3, and 4, then the Royals over the September 7, 8, 9 weekend.

But it's not just baseball season. Major League Soccer is in action when Chicago's Fire play Houston on September 2.

If Women's basketball is of interest, the Chicago Sky play Los Angeles on September 2.

Lots of choices for the fan to enjoy.
